About Me

My name is Samantha Waddell, and I’m a married military spouse with three almost-adult children. Over the years, I’ve seen so many changes in the car seat world—confusing advice, constantly evolving information, and unfortunately, a lot of misuse, even from well-intentioned parents (myself included!). Those experiences sparked my passion for child passenger safety and inspired me to help families understand and use their car seats correctly.

I was first trained through St. John Ambulance and became a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) in 2007. In 2012, I became a member of the Canadian Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC), and in 2017, I became a CPSAC instructor, allowing me to train and certify new CPSTs.

Each year, I help hundreds of families—both in person and online—to understand and use their car seats safely. Through this work, I help increase access to accurate, essential and life-saving child passenger safety education while also mentoring and certifying new technicians who can extend that reach even further through those who work in underserved, rural, high-need or hard-to-reach areas.

My approach emphasizes empowering others to make children as safe as possible, knowing that training “those who can reach communities better than I can” amplifies the impact of every lesson I teach.
