Do you have a passion for children and safety? Do you regularly transport children and want to ensure everyone is safe?
This program will certify you as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC). You will learn about the mechanics of a collision, the legislation governing child restraints and the different stages of child restraint systems and how they work. The course will include hands-on practice so that you will feel comfortable with different methods of installation and guidance on how to help parents and caregivers select and use car seats and booster seats correctly.
Successful candidates will receive a certificate good for three years, membership in the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada, liability insurance when working as a volunteer, access to regional and nation-wide networking and support of other CPSTs, and ongoing support and updates as technology and standards change.

Course date and times are as follows:
July 24th – 8:30am - 6:00pm
July 25th – 8:30am - 6:00pm
July 26th - 8:30am - 5:30pm (Clinic from 2-5pm )
Attendance is required for all 3 days for both the classroom and clinic portions, with skills assessment by the instructor(s) throughout the course.

The Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training program is a nationally-recognized, standardized, professional training and certification program provided by instructors in communities throughout the country.

- Prepare you to use your technical and practical skills to help families at clinic events, private seat checks, workshops, community events, or as related to your employment.
- Evidence-based curriculum is focused on best practice
- Are completed in-person, with hands-on skills practice
- Total time: 24 hours, with full attendance required for successful completion
- Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) certification and membership with CPSAC valid for 3 years upon completion.
- CPST training is endorsed by Parachute Canada.
